Sculpture performed by Courtney Kessel and Cullen Beach
You & Me (performed)
performers, plywood, glitter, acrylic
2010

Along with the sculpture being situated in a gallery, it was also available to be performed. It's size (and content), while slightly unwieldy, became humorously honest when positioned in a person's arms. The "YOU" is so big and bold and the "me" is so unassuming. When you were in front of me, it seemed all about you. When you were behind me, it felt as if it were all about me. The dynamic shifted between the two as passers-by quietly (and not so quietly) identified with one or the other.
