Subjectification
talcum powder
72" diameter
2010

When the piece was installed, a gallery goer had unintentionally walked across some of the words. I thought I should "fix" it before the opening reception when it occurred to me that that was in fact the intention of both it's position (on the floor) and it's medium (talcum powder). So I left it. By the end of the exhibition, more alterations occurred but largely the smudged words acted as a means to highlight the temporal nature of the work.
